Mr. Lima is an accomplished legal professional with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, specializing in recycling, sustainable economies, and climate solutions. He has advised governments, investment funds, and corporations on sustainable development strategies and innovative environmental policies.

Transformative Achievements

Mr. Lima’s distinguished career includes serving as electoral attorney to Brazil’s Labor Party, supporting the current President, and playing a pivotal role in establishing Brazil’s Sustainable Development Fund. His efforts have contributed to the preservation of over 100,000 acres of rainforest and the creation of tradable carbon offsets on the London Stock Exchange. He is a staunch advocate for the indigenous peoples of Brazil.

Expanding Seagate’s Impact

With Mr. Lima’s leadership, Seagate Global will harness his legal and environmental expertise alongside the firm’s strong investment record to advance multiple initiatives such as making global tree conservation profitable. These include expanding box and paper recycling worldwide, developing carbon offsets from recycling efforts, and driving sustainable development projects in Brazil and the Asia-Pacific region.  

Pioneering Sustainable Solutions

Mr. Lima has developed food security programs rooted in sustainable production models that emphasize reforestation and environmental preservation. He is currently spearheading the Masterplan for inland waterways in the Amazon, a visionary strategy to replace oil-based navigation with sustainable alternatives across the Amazon River and its tributaries—with Seagate’s support.

Broad Legal and Institutional Experience

Mr. Lima has served as legal counsel for numerous Brazilian public companies in energy and infrastructure, as well as for leading institutions such as the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and the Financing Agency for Studies and Projects (Finep). He has crafted legal frameworks for sustainability and infrastructure projects globally, with a focus on climate funds and export credit structuring.

Innovation and Social Impact

He has designed innovation platforms across multiple sectors to address socio-environmental challenges and poverty alleviation. Through his Lima Foundation, Mr. Lima privately supports environmental initiatives and sustainable development programs. In a demonstration of shared commitment, Seagate Global will contribute 5% of its net profits to the Lima Foundation.

International Leadership and Multilingual Expertise

Mr. Lima’s international experience includes roles as Director of Infrastructure, Energy, and Foreign Affairs at FIESP, Human Rights Consultant with the OAS/UN in Haiti, and UN Electoral Process Observer. He is fluent in Portuguese (native), English, Haitian Creole, Italian, French, German, and Spanish.
